Report 22/3/18

Post by Nicole Penfold » Mon Mar 26, 2018 4:48 pm

At the moment I recommend fishing the deeper water north of Peel Island looking for bait and structure around Green and Mud Island. Green Island has been one of the consistent spots in the Bay for some time .

Using berley this weekend is very important and will increase your catch rate no end. It is worth a drive to the sand hills to see if the Mackerel are still in the area. Take some metal casting slugs and Pilchards for best results when targeting Mackerel .

The southern end of the bay will fish very hard as the flush from the Logan river will discolor the water for some time. Prawns are well worth a look at Redland Bay with good catches reported before the rain.

The swell is dropping offshore and there is one knot of current at the wave rider buoy.

Reports of Spanish Mackerel at the group before the bad weather.
