Weekly Report 28 Mar 14

The estuaries are finally getting a fresh run of water through them to flush them out. This normally gets the bait moving and get out in the muddy waters brining the bigger fish out all day long. Mulloway will certainly be on the prowl around the canals and deeper holes so get some live bait and give it a go. Fishing around the mouth of the Mooloolaba Harbour will be a good idea over the weekend if you can't get outside. Bream are still in big numbers around the creeks like Currimundi and canal systems. Still some mullet around in the same areas as well but they me be a little tuff to find in the muddy, debris filled waters. This weekend it will be worth putting a big effort in around areas where you can get bait including yabbie patches.

Offshore will present a couple of opportunities over the next few days so pick your times well. Last weekend was all about tuna and mackerel around the Inner Gneerings and around the Outer Gneerings close to the 9mile marker. There were bait schools working right along the front of Mooloolaba and Caloundra right up north around Sunshine Reef. The Caloundra 12 mile and spoil grounds all produced and one of the better methods was dead trolling with live a baits or big pillies. This weekend hopefully we will see some dirty water lines that will be worth a look and off course out wide in the deeper water areas will be on fire. Brays Rock and Currimundi Reefs will certainly be worth a trip if it remains rough. Have Fun!
