We have not had the best of weather this week but the windows we have had there has been some great fishing on offer and the good news is we are looking at a good batch of weather over the coming week. The fishing front has been good with plenty of Snapper on offer and the quality of fish being caught is nothing short of amazing. Exciting times for fisherman over the next week and we are excited to see what this snapper season brings.

Gone Fishing Day
National Gone Fishing day was on Sunday and we saw Lee, Rach, and the girls head down to Mordialloc pier with plenty of other kids and adults to give fishing a go. Fisheries was done there giving a hand to all anglers and teaching all who came down how to catch a fish. Great incentive and it was great to see so many people having a go at fishing for the day.

Port Phillip Bay
Staff member James caught some really nice snapper again off Ricketts point with z man soft plastics in a pink colour. James has been catching these fish for many weeks now and said the key to his success his to mark the fish on his sounder then drop the his plastics down on them.

Aaron Habgood from Reds fishing adventures had a great session out from ricketts point last Friday. Fishing in the late afternoon and into the night whilst the barometer was high Aaron had some insane fishing on pilchards and silver whiting. Aaron said it was just a matter of marking the fish on his sounder and finding the school of fish that was feeding.

Our good mate Tom Hall took his Fiancé Nikki out for a snapper fish on Wednesday afternoon.
Working the reef edge along Ricketts point with plastics Nikki showed Tom how it's really done with this honker of a snapper she got on a new storm 4" Joker shad in fluorescent green.

Western Port
Customers Gavin and Wally fished off Hastings on Wednesday night and caught this nice 4kg Snapper which was there first for the season. The boys were fishing with yakka fillet as bait and caught this fish on the run out tide.

Cameron fished with his dad and pop on Friday night down at the western entrance and had a ball catching this 128 cm gummy shark. Fishing with fresh baits on the run out tide was the trick.
