Report 26/8/16

Post by Nicole Penfold » Fri Aug 26, 2016 4:58 pm

We have been getting some great reports on the local scene from customers during the week saying there are plenty of garfish in the bay. From the land and from the boat guys have been having a ball catching plenty of Garfish. Perfect time to get your self some fresh bait for the upcoming snapper season. Make sure you use burley to attract them and live maggots have been the best bait.

Port Phillip Bay
Cliff came into the shop during the week to show us this snapper he and his mates caught fishing landbased in williamstown last weekend. Great early season Snapper land based.

Western Port Bay
Mason Schulze fished the top end of Westernport over the weekend and managed this beautiful Snapper. Mason was fishing in the late afternoon with fresh squid as bait fishing in 5 meters of water.

John Regali had a great weekend fishing on the Nong (Dandynong River). John caught some nice Bream, with the best one went just on 38 cm. John reports the water was very discolored but still managed over 20 fish for the day.

Mark Whiteroad snuck up to Daylesford Sunday afternoon for an evening session. On Whiteys second cast he found the Redfin with the first fish for the afternoon about 25cms. Biggest fish for the day was a Redfin Perch measuring 46cm.
