Fishing & Lake Report 20/05/2015
Current discharge: 460 ML per day.
Water level 20/05/15 41. %
Current inflow: 1560 ML per day.
Water level 06/05/15: 41.1 %
Water visibility: up to 1 metres
Rain past 7 days : 17.2 mm

Forecast Weather: Sunny for the weekend with temps between 2 & 16 degrees C. Winds up to 7 kmh.
New Moon = June 17th Full Moon = June 30th Water Temperature: 15 deg

Murray Cod: Reasonably tough going. Trolling seems to be the best option. Daniel & Dave from the ACT picked up 4 smaller fish up to 50cm on Saturday. They trolled a mixture of smaller hard bodies and spinner baits, towards Wade Island, 2 Cod were caught on a red & black Stump jumper, 1 on a gold deep diver and the 4th on a spinner bait. Steve from Windsor also managed a very nice 68cm fish trolling a Brown coloured deep diver. There is a fair mix of lures in that report. Just goes to show you need to get the lure close to the fish and let it decide if it has the same choice in colours as you.

Yellow Belly: There are still some good fish being caught for the patient fisherman. The weather could not have been any better on the weekend for this time of year. I managed a very healthy 47cm Yellow on Monday while casting a purple spinner bait up towards Barbers Bay. We also trolled up the Goodradigbee River for a couple of hours amongst the timber with a big AC Invader and a Stucky but did not get a touch. There have been a few fish trolled up in the main basin. Shane from Cobar managed 2 at 41cm while trolling 7.5 metre deep divers, Green & Yellow. A lot of fisherman were fishing from the Junction, Yass & Murrumbidgee, back down to Scrubby. These are mostly bait fishermen and most are still catching a feed.

Redfin: No reports this week however Barbers Bay is showing up heaps of fish on the sounder hanging around the timber. We could not get a strike on our trolled lures or cast spinner bait. Might be worth a shot with some worms or smaller plastics.

Carp: Taking worms and corn. Many carp fisherman are shore based along the park foreshore

Park News: Dean & Wendy are heading off for a break next week and will not return until the end of June. Ron & Vicky will be here as temp park managers so don’t panic if you see new faces about the park. We will return. That also means no fishing reports until I return. Feel free to post on our facebook page if you have any pics or reports.
